What is smart government?

That’s what smart government is like. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, you can contact any department of government, like transport or health, using your phone or tablet. You can even contact them when you’re on vacation, because smart government never takes a day off.

What’s so smart about it?

Our leaders know that the best government is one that reaches out to its people instead of waiting for them to reach out first. That’s why they put a road map into place to help all the different departments go digital. They know that being able to do things online in their own time will make people happier.

What can you do the smart way?

Smart government is made up of lots of clever digital innovations, designed to improve our lives and make us happier. The Smart Pass system allows people to log on with a single password and user ID to access 11 different government departments, like the TRA, Emirates Post Group and the official government portal. There are dedicated kiosks to log on across the country and new departments are signing up all the time. And if that’s not smart enough, the government even has its own app store, with over 100 different government apps just for you. Happy shopping!

How the government is only getting smarter

This is just the beginning! In the next three years, more and more things will being going ‘smart’. The government is focused on developing more and more smart technology – on your phone, your computer, even on the clothes you wear.
